Once
upon a time I wanted to be an artist. I even went to school and received an
art degree.
I studied photography, printmaking, jewelry making, fashion illustration, graphic
design, studio
painting, and commercial illustration. I purchased my first computer in 1985
and became insterested
in the tools being developed for creating and manipulating images on this new
machine. All it took
was one trip to a SIGGRAPH show in 1991 and I never looked back. The ability
to create art on the
computer was just what I was looking for. I could combine my interest in the
3d world, photography,
technical illustration, and hand drawn images in a whole new way.
With the advent of the internet and direct to print digital image output, the
limitations present when I
first got started gradually went away. Now my studio can be anywhere I can set
up my computer. I can
still break out the brushes and paint thinner when I just need to get my hands
in it but it's no longer a
requirement to work. I don't have to deal with airbrush overspray, the spills
or dried out tubes of paint
and I don't have to wait for anything to dry.
Some of the images on this site date back to the
early 90's. I am starting to update the site a little
as I have time. Keep checking back there will be new pieces coming soon...
